Alleviating the debilitating systoms of Post- Traumatic Stress Disorder

The procedure works as follows:

A long-acting injection is delivered in the neck under ultrasound/x-ray guidance at a very specific site. With a very steady hand, the treatment is injected into a cluster of nerve cells called the stellate ganglion, which controls your brain’s fight-or-flight reactions – This reaction forms part of your sympathetic nervous system.

Your stellate ganglion is treated which resets the symptoms experienced by PTSD sufferers. Some patients experience an instant effect which may last up to six (6) months. Others are symptom free for even longer. Besides the technicality of the injection itself, there are NO known side effects.

It will likely become a large part of the treatment approach for patients with PTSD which include military veterans, defence and police forces, first responders to trauma/emergency scenes and victims of violent crime to name a few.

Multiple peer-reviewed medical studies show that a right-sided SGB results in significant long-term improvement in chronic anxiety symptoms associated with PTSD. The SGB procedure takes approximately 30 minutes to perform and benefits are seen in as little as 30 minutes.

The SGB is not a cure for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. However, it is a highly effective, well tolerated, fast acting and inexpensive injection technique that provides prolonged relief from the debilitating symptoms of PTSD.
